The visit in 30 seconds

Saint-Sulpice church tower in ParisIf the church of Saint-Sulpice has become world famous since being mentioned in the Da Vinci Code, it did not wait for the novelist Dan Brown to stimulate our interest in its history.

This building, which its patrons wanted to be "the most beautiful church in Paris", holds numerous treasures, starting with the history of its construction, the origin of which remains controversial even though the surest of vestiges date back to the 12th century.

Jacob's struggle with the AngelSaint-Sulpice is home to several works by Eugène Delacroix, but also other famous artists from the 18th and 19th centuries. Music lovers can admire the great organs made at the end of the 18th century. Finally, Saint-Sulpice is also a place of science with the presence of its gnomon (a simple sundial), a mysterious-looking scientific object which will not fail to surprise you.

Starting from the political and social context and continuing through the study of the building, the artistic works and the gnomon, Georges Grand, speaker and photographer, and Jean-Olivier Gransard-Desmond, Doctor in Archaeology and President of ArkeoTopia, will lead you through the ages in a two and a half hour-long discovery of the place itself, the trades and crafts and the techniques but also through the thoughts of an archaeological researcher.
